now that it’s on the public internet i suppose i can be a dork about it here
i’m going to be a fellow at new york theater workshop for the next year, and it’s wonderfully surreal
nytw has made so much work that means the world to me, and to get to be a part of making things happen there is just beyond any dream i could have possibly had for my career
and it especially is sentimental to me because sing street started there too, and now michael and i are both tethered to the workshop, which is just so fitting considering all the other ways we’re linked for life
anyway it’s so much to process that when i was a teenager i was on this dumb website quitting theater to pursue other things bc i wasn’t a good actor and then eventually acquiescing to having a theater side blog bc i couldn’t give it up entirely and then changing my major in college to drama and fucking struggle-blogging about my work and stuff for so long and now after a fucking once in a lifetime pandemic that shut down my entire industry i get to help theater come back with a real job at one of my favorite theaters in the world
